Not For Profit Sector.
The Not for Profit Sector continues to contribute to diverse areas of interest in Kenya encompassing but not limited to climate, food security, addressing the challenges faced by the less fortunate members in the society, water and sanitation, human rights and governance, gender equality, environment and conservation.
The not-for-profit sector in Kenya comprises a very diverse grouping of organizations; Ranging from small welfare (Community-based organizations) to large social-economic organizations both local and international.
Non-profit organizations continue to play a critical role in addressing social and economic challenges. However, quite a significant portion of these organizations are often vulnerable to funding risk impacting on sustenance, governance risks, compliance risk, environmental and financial risks, including fraud and mismanagement among others. With the global changes in legislation touching on money laundering, human rights and security, funding organisations continue to demand accountability and traceability to ensure that the funds were used for intended purposes.
